I am delighted to have been interviewed by Bob Chaundy on the ‘Considering Art’ podcast. Bob is a former BBC news journalist who has been writing art reviews mainly in London, covering painting, sculpture, photography and all manner of contemporary art and installations, including an art blog for the Huffington Post UK.
Nicola Anthony talks about her swirling metal textual sculptures that are distillations of the testimonies of people who have often suffered personal trauma. She then converts them into abstract contemporary sculptural works that have been shown all over the world. Nicola talks about her background, her feelings of “otherness” and explains the process of collecting these confessions and memories, gives examples, and how she believes they offer insights into the human condition.

Art Miami opened this week and I am debuting one of my larger sculptures which is installed as a public showcase with Long-Sharp gallery at Art Miami fair. I am honoured to be hanging next to some of the greats including Andy Warhol, Mel Bochner, David Spiller, Miro, Hockney and Lichtenstein.
