Artist Talk - Around the World in 800 Stories

  • The Presentation Arts Centre Convent Road Enniscorthy, County Wexford Ireland (map)

As part of Nicola Anthony’s solo exhibition A Desire for Closeness, there will be an artist’s talk on the 11th January, 2020.

“The Presentation Art Centre welcomes Nicola who has travelled the world to make art about those who experience life differently, to delve into challenging life stories, and to find the human essence that bonds all of us despite our differences. In this talk, Nicola will give insight into her exhibition at The Presentation Arts Centre for which she has worked with communities in Wexford county who experience profound loneliness or disconnection. She will share some wonderful stories that her research platform, the Human Archive Project has explored - from tales of unexpected happiness and serendipity in Singapore, to the testimonies of holocaust survivors in the USA, to the feelings of displacement of those who have migrated to or from Ireland.”

This is a free event but please reserve your place. Tickets are available here.

As part of this exhibition, Nicola will be hosting a workshop entitled ‘The Secret Life of Colour’ at 1.30pm on Saturday the 18th January. Click here to learn more.
